Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Join Our Team at Varco Home Health
Varco Home Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing team in San Antonio, Texas. We are currently needing coverage in the Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, and Southeast areas.

Key Responsibilities
Assist with Patient Evaluation:
Support the supervising Physical Therapist by gathering patient information, observing functional abilities, and contributing to the development of care plans.
Implement Treatment Plans:
Carry out individualized treatment plans created by the supervising PT to help restore mobility, improve strength, and enhance functional performance.
Provide Therapeutic Interventions:
Deliver interventions including therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility training.
Patient & Caregiver Instruction:
Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, safety techniques, and strategies to support ongoing progress.
Monitor and Document Progress:
Accurately document patient treatments, observations, and responses, and communicate changes to the supervising PT.
Collaborate with the Care Team:
Work closely with the supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
Home Safety Awareness:
Observe and report any environmental risks within the home setting and reinforce safety recommendations provided by the PT.
Deliver Compassionate Care:
Provide empathetic, high-quality care focused on improving patient independence and quality of life.
Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in Texas (TX)
- Home health or rehabilitation experience preferred
- Ability to adapt treatment approaches to meet individual patient needs
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapy practices
- Strong communication skills and patient-centered approach
- Valid Driver’s License
- Kinnser/WellSky EMR experience preferred
